About the Author

Welcome to my website and to Idyllwild, a small estate in the North of England where three siblings find romance, passion and love far away from the prying eyes of Regency era Society.

I have always enjoyed writing, creating characters and worlds in my head and bringing them to life on paper. At ten years old, I won a creative writing contest for my short-story Life Inside an Ice Cube and decided that one day I would become a published author. If only I could decide what to write.

Write About What You Know.

Every Creative Writing Teacher and College Professor said these words to me in one form or another. But what did I know?

I knew I enjoyed the guilty pleasure of reading romance novels whenever I could find time between studying, working and raising my son as a single mother.

I knew quite a bit about women’s lives in the Regency and Victorian era from years spent bouncing back and forth between European History and English Literature as a major in college.

I knew precious little about romance except to know that it was more than the cliché card and a dozen red roses on Valentine’s Day.

Love was yet another mystery to me, one I hoped to solve if I could only find the right man.

Then I met my husband, seven years my junior and in the prime of his life while I was most assuredly at my peak. What a combustible combination, in the best possible sense of the words…we were hot, hot, hot together.

The pillow talk quickly became as precious to me as the passion and soon he was leaving me sweet little notes on the windshield of my car, cleaning my apartment when I was just too busy with work and life, and bringing me bouquets of wildflowers for no reason at all.

Finally I Knew.

Passion, Love and Romance.
And I began to write.
